EMDR is a highly regarded and studied evidence based treatment modality often used to process past trauma, maladaptive core beliefs (MCB), shame, guilt, fears, OCD, chronic illness, addiction, disordered eating and intrusive thoughts. It also provides resourcing skills and coping strategies for present day. Beyond Trauma is a great pod-cast to add to your library.
EMDR Extended Sessions are a form of an EMDR intensive designed to help you get to “0-7-Clear” in fewer sessions. EMDR extended sessions allow us to process and “clear” maladaptive core beliefs (MCB) in a safe and supportive environment. These sessions are ideal for people who have a specific event that is hindering their psychotherapy journey, people with the ability to dedicate half a day for session over the course of a week or 2 and anyone ready to dive in and process events that have been holding them back.
Somatic Experiencing taps in to the mind/body connection. Sometimes clients have a hard identifying sensations in their bodies. I put together a resource to help you learn more about how your body is responding to your environment. You can download a somatic cheatsheet here.
